The value of the total wage reported in this variable should equal the value of the basic wage in addition to bonuses, benefits, allowances, profits, etc.

When the original dataset has only wage categories, the total wage is calculated as the midpoint of the range provided.

COUNTRY SPECIFIC NOTES
----------------------------------
The original variable (wg_basic) is reported for wage workers and regular employment only.
The weekly, monthly and yearly wages in pounds are provided. The weekly wages were multiplied by 4 and the monthly wages were divided by 12 to generate a new total variable of monthly wages.
