As regard to commodities imported through the Temporary Admission System, inspection scope is limited to passing the microbial and blight testing.\n- Inspection of all exported commodities subject to laws regulating ionized radiations and their risk prevention, as well as food control, agriculture and import and export.\n- Overseeing inspection of exported and imported commodities subject to rules governing censorship on literary works and the repression of fraud and cheat,  as well as practicing pharmacy besides toxic materials used in industry, control of precious metals and the protection of antiquities, measurements and dry measures. \n- Optional inspection of commodities upon the request of applicants. \n\n--- >  Keeping the following Commercial Register:\n\t- Importers register.\n\t- Exporters register.\n\t- Agents and Commercial Mediators register.\n\t- Scientific and consultancy Bureau register.\n\t- Factory production supplies import cards register.\n\t- Integration cards with Sudan.\n\n--- >\u00b7 Issuing the certificates of origin for goods of Egyptian origin and of acquired Egyptian origin.\n--- >\u00b7 Sorting agriculture crops for crop-specific rating in order to categorize them. \n--- >\u00b7 Ensuring adherence to traceability system\n--- >\u00b7 The participation with the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality in the amendment of specifications related to imported foodstuffs and industrial goods. \n--- >\u00b7 Printing guidebooks and brochures on services provided by GOEIC and its procedures; and to reach out to customers. \n--- >\u00b7 Doing Research on Exports (challenges & solutions).\n--- >\u00b7 Designing and printing of brochures to facilitate reaching out to dealers with GOEIC while identifying major steps and procedures pursued for service - rendering.\n--- >\u00b7 Printing booklets related to Ministry's affiliated bodies and entities. \n--- >\u00b7 Printing newsletters related to Commercial Registration Administrator. \n--- >\u00b7 Inspection of contracting samples of imported industrial goods. \n\nThe Organization performs the above-mentioned activities under the following legislation: \nLaw No. 118\/1971 on import and export and its executive promulgated by the ministerial decree No. 275\/1991.\nLaw No. 120\/1982 on the importers register and the implementing regulation promulgated upon the ministerial decree No. 342\/1982 and Law No. 121\/1982 on registration in the commercial agents registers and the implementing regulation promulgated as per the ministerial decree No. 343\/1982.\nPresidential Decree No. 106\/2000.","coll_dates":[{"start":"2005","end":"2016","cycle":"-"}],"nation":[{"name":"Egypt","abbreviation":"EGY"}],"analysis_unit":"- Trader importing products controlled through GOEIC","data_kind":"Event\/transaction data [evn]","notes":"For the years 2005-2016; on the trader and the product levels, the data provided indicates:\n1- Country of origin\n2- Country of destination\n3- Port used for importing\n4- Total imports value in US$\n5- Total imports value in EGP\n6- Quantity imported\n7- Quantity unit"},"method":{"data_collection":{"data_collectors":[{"name":"General Organization for Export and Import Control","abbreviation":"GOEIC","affiliation":""}],"coll_mode":"Other [oth]","coll_situation":"Imports data is retrieved from the customs records."}},"data_access":{"dataset_use":{"conf_dec":[{"txt":"To access the micro data, researchers are required to register on the ERF website and comply with the data access agreement. \n\nThe data will be used only for scholarly, research, or educational purposes.
